I have had some time to do some walking around with my 40mm F/2 lens and so far I’m liking the results that I get from it.
Again, I’m kind of partial to cheap fun and this lens fit the bill for something to toss into the bag that had a slightly tighter frame than the 24mm F/1.7 that I had picked up earlier.
Overall I have to say that I’m happy with the results, and I’m going to probably be messing around with this for a while getting a feel on what’s going on there. The only thing that would be nice would be if the lens was a macro lens, however given the price that would be asking a lot.
Even without a macro function I’m getting decent close work from the lens, so until I’m willing to spend the money on the Nikkor MC 105mm F/2.8 VR S this will probably be the go to for closer work.
